IL says middle class was abandoned by PS and PSD and is "under attack"

The Iniciativa Liberal (IL) harshly criticized PS and PSD, accusing both parties of having abandoned the Portuguese middle class. According to the liberals, this social class is currently "under attack" and devoid of effective political representation.

The liberal leader stated that "where there are votes, there are promises", but that "where there are fewer votes, there is contempt" on the part of the main political forces. The official considered that, currently, nobody truly speaks or seriously defends the interests of the middle class.
