The Constitutional Court decided on Friday that the 11 norms of the decree that modifies the granting of asylum and the return of foreigners are constitutional. This decision was made after the decree was sent by the President of the Republic for preventive review.
The decree in question had been approved by parliament and dealt with changes to the rules for granting asylum and the process of returning foreigners.
The Left Bloc considered this decision by the Constitutional Court as an "important setback" for its positions on the matter.
Despite classifying the decision as a significant setback, BE maintains its opposition to the decree in question.
