After the disaster, Nepal appeals for a "global effort" to combat climate change

The Nepali foreign minister called this Saturday for a "global effort" in combating climate change. The official stated that Nepal is one of the biggest victims of global warming, although it contributes less than 0.01 percent to greenhouse gas emissions.

The devastating flood that hit the country last Wednesday killed at least 683 people. The number of missing exceeds three thousand, according to the updated toll of the tragedy.

Nepal faces severe consequences from climate change, although its contribution to global emissions is practically insignificant. This disparity between the impact suffered and the responsibility for the causes of global warming has been highlighted by the Nepali government in the context of the catastrophe recovery.
