A six-year-old girl was rescued alive this Saturday in Timure, northern Nepal, almost 60 hours after being trapped under the debris swept away by the flood. The rescue teams had to clear a path manually through stones, wood, metal sheets and fragments of structures accumulated by the current until reaching the narrow space where the child had been trapped. The rescue occurred at a time when the possibilities of finding survivors are rapidly diminishing as the hours pass.
