An elderly woman was prevented from using a wheelchair from the emergency department of Cascais Hospital to get to the consultation area of the facility. The patient needed to access the hospital's consultation zone.

Faced with this situation, a TVDE driver, the individual passenger transport service in unmarked vehicles, decided to help the patient. The driver ended up carrying her in his arms to the consultation area of the hospital.

The case raises questions about the access and mobility conditions for patients within the Cascais hospital facility, particularly regarding the availability of support equipment such as wheelchairs.
