Marielle Franco's family released a statement of condemnation for the interview given by Ronnie Lessa to TV Record, aired on Thursday, the 27th, on the program Doc Investigação. Lessa is convicted for the execution of the councilwoman and her driver Anderson Gomes.
During the interview, the former military police officer spoke for the first time about the crime and other cases involving his name. Lessa stated he was "numbed by money" when participating in the assassination and defined the action as an "overdose of greed."
For the family, the interview turned into a spectacle a crime that destroyed their lives. In the statement, Marielle's relatives stated that giving prominence and image to the executor, while the production reconstructs in detail the dynamics of the assassination, is a choice considered "irresponsible."
