Sábado29 August 2026 at 13:40

Hundreds of people gathered on Friday at Plaza de Bolívar, in Bogotá, to participate in a tribute to the victims of the earthquake that hit Colombia at the beginning of this month. Participants illuminated the space with candles as a gesture of mourning and solidarity.

Among those present at the ceremony were President Abelardo de la Espriella and First Lady Ana Lucía Pineda, who joined the population in this moment of recognition of the victims of the natural disaster.

The event at the main square of the Colombian capital allowed the community to gather to pay tribute to the people affected by the earthquake that occurred earlier in the month. The candle lighting created a moment of joint reflection at Plaza de Bolívar.

Drive carefully in the Algarve: Faro is the district with the most cases of this scam in 2026 and victims are losing more than 15 thousand euros

The GNR warns of the growth of staged traffic accident scams in Portugal, with the district of Faro recording the highest number of cases in 2026, already surpassing the total for the entire previous year. Losses exceeded 72 thousand euros in the first half of the year, with a single victim losing 15,450 euros. The scheme involves following drivers as they exit parking lots, simulating a collision, and pressuring victims to pay quickly while avoiding police involvement. Criminals now use portable payment terminals to obtain bank cards and PIN codes, and specifically target drivers over 60 years old. The GNR recommends never handing over money immediately, photographing the scene and vehicles, and contacting police if suspicious.
