Vilar de Perdizes hosted the 40th edition of the Congress of Folk Medicine, one of the most emblematic gatherings in Barroso, which once again transformed into a great meeting point of knowledge and traditions. The area dedicated to exhibitors played a central role in bringing ancestral knowledge closer to the public, allowing visitors to discover a diversity of medicinal plants, natural products, craft items, and other articles associated with folk practices and knowledge.

The exhibition space serves as a place of direct contact between those who preserve this knowledge, those who seek it, and those who wish to learn more about a part of Barroso's cultural identity. The congress maintains one of its most unique characteristics: the ability to bring together, in the same space, different generations and different ways of looking at traditional knowledge.

Four decades after its creation, the initiative continues to affirm Vilar de Perdizes as a reference in the preservation and enhancement of folk knowledge, keeping alive the practices, memories, and traditions that are part of the history of the communities of this territory.

Among plants, aromas, objects, and stories, the congress stalls represent a journey through the collective memory of a people and the deep relationship that communities have maintained with nature for centuries.
