A vegetation fire broke out this morning in Almassora, a town in the province of Castelló, in Spain. The fire consumed an abandoned field in the region, generating a large smoke column that could be seen even from Castelló, the neighboring city.
The incident mobilized firefighters to the scene, who quickly began firefighting operations. Thanks to the rapid intervention of emergency services, the situation is currently under control.
Despite the impressive size of the smoke cloud, authorities do not appear to anticipate serious consequences from this fire. The fact that the fire occurred on abandoned land likely contributed to no significant damage to structures or dwellings being reported.
