There are five main types of motorcycle tires available on the market: touring, sport, urban, custom and off-road. Each type is developed to meet different riding styles and conditions of use, possessing specific technical characteristics that directly influence the motorcycle's performance. Choosing the right tire is essential to ensure safety, stability and a good riding experience.

Touring tires are designed for long distances and offer greater durability and comfort, being ideal for travel on paved roads. Sport tires are developed for maximum performance on tracks and intense urban use, prioritizing grip and quick response in corners, however with generally shorter lifespan. Urban tires are indicated for daily use in the city, balancing wear resistance with affordable cost.

Custom tires are aimed at custom-style motorcycles, such as bobbers and choppers, and have a more classic look, in addition to their own characteristics of stability at low speeds. On the other hand, off-road tires are designed for use on uneven terrain, trails and off-road adventures, with more aggressive tread patterns to ensure traction on mud, dirt and gravel.

The durability of tires varies significantly according to type and conditions of use, lasting from a few thousand to tens of thousands of kilometers. The replacement cost also differs considerably between categories, with sport and off-road tires tending to be more expensive due to the materials and technologies used. The recommendation is that the motorcyclist evaluate their riding style, the type of terrain where they ride most and their budget before deciding which tire to choose, considering that safety should never be compromised for economy.
