Macau records the highest hotel occupancy in the past six years, with 90.6% of rooms booked through July. The Directorate of Statistics and Census Services of the Chinese semi-autonomous region announced this morning that hotels and guesthouses in the region reached this occupancy rate through July. This data represents a significant milestone for Macau's tourism sector, which has been recovering from consecutive declines in recent years. The information was made public through an official statement from the region's statistical authorities.

YMTC aims to overtake Samsung and lead the global NAND market by 2027

Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC), a Chinese memory manufacturer, announced ambitious plans to become the world's largest NAND Flash memory producer by the end of 2027, surpassing giants like Samsung and SK Hynix. The company already ranks in the top 3 in global shipments with approximately 14% market share, but is only fifth in revenue. To achieve leadership, it would need to increase its share by 79%. YMTC is preparing for an IPO in Shanghai that could raise about 4.9 billion dollars to expand production and develop new technologies. The company faces a dual challenge: increasing production volume and directing more shipments to high-value products, especially enterprise SSDs for servers, which already represent 48% of NAND bits shipped. Additionally, YMTC continues to be restricted by US sanctions that limit its access to some advanced technologies, adding complexity to its growth strategy.

Prices will be dynamic and may vary daily, depending on supply and demand. The company estimates that a refurbished 15-inch MacBook Air will be sold starting at 1,300 euros (new costs starting at 1,700 euros). Swappie achieved revenues of 249 million euros in 2025, a 20% growth compared to the previous year, and in the Portuguese market, profitability grew tenfold between 2024 and 2025.
