Taxis will be able to operate like Uber and Bolt from September. Find out what will change

From September 1, taxis in Portugal will also be able to operate as TVDE, the regime used by platforms like Uber and Bolt. This change represents a significant alteration in the transport sector in Portugal.

The legislation allows the same vehicle to alternate between the two regimes, meaning a taxi can operate as a traditional taxi during certain periods and as TVDE at others, giving more flexibility to drivers.

However, this change brings new rules that both drivers and passengers will have to know and comply with from the date of entry into force.

Swappie starts selling refurbished Macs in Portugal

The Finnish company Swappie, specialized in the sale of refurbished electronic devices, will start selling refurbished Macs in Portugal from August 31. The company estimates that a refurbished 15-inch MacBook Air will be sold starting at 1,300 euros (new costs starting at 1,700 euros). Swappie achieved revenues of 249 million euros in 2025, a 20% growth compared to the previous year, and in the Portuguese market, profitability grew tenfold between 2024 and 2025.
