An orange cat rescued from an excavator became the new mascot of the construction company River Reach Construction in Barberton, Ohio, in the United States. The animal was found trapped inside a Komatsu machine after supervisor Chase Guello heard its meows coming from the equipment. The rescue was filmed and shared on social media in late July, showing the cat emerging from the lower part of the excavator.
The cat was named Sue after the machine she was found in. After the video went viral, Komatsu North America itself sent the feline a small reflective vest and a helmet in recognition of the rescue.
The company employees looked for Sue's mother but were unable to locate her. The animal was then taken to a foster family to receive proper veterinary care.
Sue was eventually adopted by Jared, a mechanic at the company's workshop, and gained a new permanent home among the construction workers.
