Quercus urges the West Intermunicipal Community to take a position against mining exploration in Peniche

Quercus issued an unfavorable opinion on the C-185 'Royal China Clay' Mining Concession project, which plans the exploration of kaolin in the municipality of Peniche. The environmental organization considers that the exploration brings several cumulative negative impacts for the region.

The project is currently under public consultation, with the deadline set for September 1, when citizens and entities can submit their contributions and opinions on the initiative.

Quercus is urging the West Intermunicipal Community to formally position itself against this mining exploration, calling on it to make a decision contrary to the project, following the steps of other entities that have already expressed themselves against the initiative.
