Chega/Açores questioned the Regional Government of the Azores about the circumstances of Ryanair's departure from the region, which occurred in March of this year. The party wants to know what failed in the negotiations with the low-cost airline.
The party also intends to learn about the amounts that were paid to Ryanair between 2015 and 2026, thus questioning the total cost that the region will have borne with the incentives granted to the air carrier.
This issue arises in the context of the Irish company's departure from the Azores airports, at a time when doubts are being raised about the sustainability of the agreements signed between the Regional Government and the airline.
Chega/Açores thus seeks to obtain answers about the management of public funds related to this partnership and understand what failures in the negotiating process led to the interruption of Ryanair's operations in the archipelago.
