Egyptian queen's necklace with 673 diamonds valued at R$24 million stolen from museum in Vienna

A necklace with 673 diamonds that belonged to Queen Nazli of Egypt was stolen from the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna (MAK), Austria. The jewelry was valued at approximately 4 million euros, equivalent to R$24 million. The theft occurred during the museum's opening hours.

Two men broke the glass of a display case where the piece was exhibited, took the necklace, and fled. Austrian police reported that they are looking for the two suspects, who were dressed in dark clothing. So far, no one has been identified and no one was injured during the incident.

The necklace was part of an exhibition by French jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels featuring over 300 pieces, on display at the MAK since June. Although the museum has not officially disclosed which piece was stolen, the characteristics described by authorities and Austrian press match the information about Queen Nazli's necklace.
