King Harald V of Norway died this Friday morning at Rikshospitalet hospital, at the age of 89, according to information from the Norwegian royal house. The sovereign had been hospitalized since August 17 due to a blood disease, and his health condition had severely worsened in the last hours.

Harald V had been on the Norwegian throne for 35 years, since he succeeded his father, King Olav V, in 1991.
