King Harald V of Norway died at age 87, ending a 35-year reign on the Norwegian throne. The death announcement was officially confirmed, leading to the royal standard being lowered to half-mast at the Royal Palace in Oslo as a sign of national mourning.

Harald V held the position for more than three decades, becoming a central figure in the Norwegian monarchy during that period. His reign was marked by stability and closeness to the Norwegian people.

Queen Sonja, his wife, remains a central figure of the royal family. The couple would have celebrated 28 years of marriage on Saturday, a milestone that was not reached due to the monarch's death.

Harald V's death represents the end of an era for Norway, which is now preparing for a new phase under different royal leadership, maintaining the monarchical tradition that has characterized the Nordic country over the decades.

There goes the pilgrimage of São João d'Arga

Another edition of the traditional pilgrimage of São João d'Arga took place in the Serra d'Arga, in Caminha. Pilgrims and visitors fulfilled the centuries-old tradition of climbing to the sanctuary and walking three times around the chapel, followed by the offering of two alms: one to the saint and one to the devil. The night of June 28 to 29 once again attracted thousands of people, who gathered to the sound of concertina, challenge singing, chiripiti and green wine, in what is considered one of the most traditional and authentic pilgrimages in Minho.
