Bento Pizzeria Napoletana, established in the Tijuca neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, has just achieved the 70th position in the prestigious international ranking 50 Top Pizza World 2026, which brings together the 100 best pizzerias in the world. The result was announced during a ceremony held this Tuesday in Naples, Italy, placing Rio de Janeiro on the global gastronomy scene.
The establishment is the only pizzeria from Rio in the ranking and currently holds the position of number 1 in Rio de Janeiro and 11th in Latin America, according to the 50 Top Pizza Latin America 2026 ranking. The establishment is run by Italian chef Pierluigi Russo.
Bento Pizzeria stands out for possessing exclusive certifications in Brazil, including the country's only Pizza Fritta certificate and the only pizzeria in Rio de Janeiro certified by AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana), an Italian entity that recognizes establishments that follow the traditional methods of true Neapolitan pizza. The establishment also has certification from the Ospitalità Italiana program - Ristoranti Italiani nel Mondo.
Soon, the establishment will expand its operations with the opening of a branch in the South Zone of Rio, specifically in the neighborhood of Ipanema, expanding customers' access to recognized authentic Neapolitan pizza.
