The Lisbon Court of Appeal decided to rule in favor of the Oeiras Municipality in the dispute opposing the City Council to residents of the Sky City housing development, located in the neighboring municipality of Amadora. The court upheld the dismissal of the precautionary measure requested by the residents against the local authority.
In its ruling, the court considers legal the planting of a "tree curtain" on Serra de Carnaxide, a measure that had been contested by Sky City residents. This planting, described as a "tree wall," had been advocated by the mayor of Oeiras, Isaltino Morais.
The Oeiras Municipality publicly applauded the court decision, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing the green spaces of Serra de Carnaxide. The local authority indicated that it intends to continue with this environmental protection strategy in the area.
