PSD independently presented an amendment proposal to the decree on the rules for the use of flags on public buildings, demonstrating an independent position from the other parties in response to the presidential veto.
The social democrats consider that their proposal goes further than CDS's, presenting more comprehensive responses to the grounds invoked by the President of the Republic for the veto.
The original decree, which established rules for the display of flags on public buildings, was vetoed by the President of the Republic, which motivated the parties to submit amendments.
Both amendment proposals, from PSD and CDS, arise as an attempt to find a solution that may be approved and that addresses the concerns expressed by the President of the Republic.
