Jaguar Land Rover, owned by the Indian group Tata Motors, announced plans to sell the new Defender to NATO member countries, seeking to take advantage of the rearmament occurring in Europe.
This move comes in a context of increasing military spending in several European countries, which has created new business opportunities for manufacturers of military and dual-use vehicles.
The automotive group revealed this month that it will eliminate four thousand jobs worldwide, representing nearly 10% of its global workforce.
This workforce reduction will be implemented over the next two years, at a time when the company is seeking to restructure its operations and find new sources of revenue.
