The Federation of Public Administration Trade Unions (Fesap), a structure affiliated to UGT, will propose to the Government that the base remuneration in the public sector rise to 1,050 euros in 2027, accompanied by a minimum update of 6.5% or 95 euros for all workers. This proposal was presented by the general secretary of Fesap, José Abraão, at a press conference in Lisbon, within the scope of the claims dossier for 2027 with contributions for the State Budget.
Fesap justifies this demand with the growth of inflation, the increase in fuel prices, the cost of housing and the rise in essential goods, expecting the Executive to go "further" than the increases provided for in the multi-year agreement currently in force. José Abraão highlighted that the Government has a "good opportunity" to increase both the minimum wage and the base remuneration of the Public Administration, arguing that there should be a separation between BRAP and the guaranteed minimum remuneration.
Fesap's proposal is superior to the multi-year agreement in force, which provides for salary increases of 2.30% with a minimum of 60.52 euros. The new agreement was signed on January 21 between the Government, Fesap and STE.
Similar to last year, Fesap also demands that the meal allowance be increased to 10 euros per day, tax-free. José Abraão warned that "nobody can eat with 6.15 euros," the current value of the allowance, noting that some public services charge more than that amount for meals. The agreement in force provides for increases of only 15 cents per year until 2029.
