Funchal Notícias15 September 2026 at 16:59

The Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM), EPERAM, hosted a new edition of the European Trauma Course (ETC) between September 10 and 12. The course was organized by the SESARAM Training Centre.

This edition of the ETC was dedicated to updating knowledge and skills of doctors involved in the initial response provided to severely polytraumatized patients.

The European Trauma Course is a specialized training that aims to prepare health professionals to deal with critical trauma situations, reinforcing intervention capabilities in the first hours after an accident or serious injury.

Participants from various medical areas had the opportunity to deepen diagnostic and emergency treatment techniques, contributing to the improvement of the quality of care provided to patients in critical condition in the region.

Why this matters

This training allows Madeiran doctors to update crucial skills in treating severe trauma victims, potentially improving the outcomes of emergency care provided in the region. The course strengthens the response capacity of the regional health system in urgent and emergency situations.
