Guimarães hosts the 2nd edition of Guimarães Master Padel between September 14 and 20, a week dedicated to high-level competition in the sport. The event features an FIP Silver, a competition part of the official circuit of the International Padel Federation, which will bring together some of the best national and international players in the city. 18 thousand euros in FIP prize money are at stake, and the organization reinforces the ambition to position Guimarães as a reference in the organization of major padel events.
The venue chosen for the main matches is Campo de São Mamede, next to Guimarães Castle. This location creates a connection between sport, heritage, and the historical identity of the city, transforming one of Guimarães' most emblematic spaces into a padel amphitheater prepared for international competition.
The program also includes the McDonald's Guimarães Open, part of the official circuit of the Portuguese Padel Federation. The combination of the two competitions brings together different generations and levels of competition, bringing Portuguese athletes closer to the international context and guaranteeing the public a week of intense matches.
The event seeks not only to provide excellent competition, but also to project Guimarães through sport. For seven days, the eyes of padel will be turned to the city, where holding an international event in such a symbolic space reinforces the connection between competition, territory, and heritage.
