The Municipality of Ponta Delgada will make the Minibus service available for free during European Mobility Week, between September 16 and 22. The municipality on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, decided to join this European initiative through this measure to encourage the use of public transport.
According to a press release issued by the municipality, the main objective of this action is to promote public transport as an alternative to the use of private vehicles. The municipality thus intends to encourage citizens to adopt more sustainable forms of mobility during this week dedicated to European mobility.
The free Minibus service will be available to all users during the period between September 16 and 22, covering the entire week of celebrations of the European initiative. This is another measure taken by the municipality of Ponta Delgada to promote sustainable mobility in the region.
