A 92-year-old woman died and a 95-year-old man was seriously injured following a gas leak recorded on Tuesday at a residence in Castelo de Vide, in the district of Portalegre. The alert for the occurrence was given at 10:21 AM, leading to the mobilization of several emergency services.
According to Civil Protection, the elderly woman's death resulted from gas inhalation, a direct consequence of the leak detected in the residence. Death was declared on scene by the medical team that participated in the operation.
