At the same time, the Strait of Ormuz is facing a blockade that is already significantly affecting trade and the global energy sector. These two combined threats represent a serious risk to global supply chains.
Qatar issued a concerning alert, stating that the loss of access to Bab el-Mandeb would be "catastrophic for the whole world". The country emphasized that closing this passage would further aggravate the global crisis already caused by naval tensions.
Given this situation, Qatar advocated for the need for a diplomatic solution to resolve the conflict and guarantee freedom of navigation in these strategic waters, warning that escalation could have serious consequences for the international economy.
