Alexandre de Moraes presented his defense before a session at the Supreme Federal Court that will define his future. The minister is the target of a procedure that will analyze his conduct at the head of inquiries related to crimes against democracy.
In the filing, Moraes directed criticism at Minister André Mendonça, who is the rapporteur of the case. Mendonça was appointed to the Court by President Jair Bolsonaro.
Moraes accused André Mendonça of acting out of "revenge" and of making "political-electoral" use of the inquiry that investigates the minister. The STF session will determine the next steps of the disciplinary process against Moraes.
