Portugal has nominated the film "A Memória do Cheiro das Coisas", directed by António Ferreira, to represent the country in the race for Oscar nominations. The selection was announced by the Portuguese Film Academy, which issued a statement congratulating the director, the producer, and all the artistic and technical team involved in the work, wishing them the greatest success in this new stage of the film's journey.
The decision was made through voting among the members of the Portuguese Film Academy in recent weeks. During this process, "A Memória do Cheiro das Coisas" competed with five other Portuguese films: "18 Buracos para o Paraíso" by João Nuno Pinto, "Maria Vitória" by Mário Patrocínio, "Primeira Pessoa do Plural" by Sandro Aguilar, "Projeto Global" by Ivo M. Ferreira and "Terra Vil" by Luís Campos.
