The Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Márcio Elias Rosa, announced on Monday that he is expected to meet with the trade representative of the Donald Trump administration, Jamieson Greer, at the end of September. The meeting takes place amid negotiations on the tariffs imposed by the American government on Brazilian products.
The meeting is scheduled for September 30 and October 1, during a G20 meeting of Industry and Trade ministers, in Milwaukee, United States. Elias Rosa will travel accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira.
According to the minister, the conversation was previously arranged with Greer and is being prepared by the technical teams of both countries. The expectation, both from the Brazilian side and from USTR (the Office of the United States Trade Representative), is to hold an in-person meeting during the G20 event.
