Ponte da Barca took its flavors, traditions and identity to the election of the Ambassador of Wine Territories, which took place last Saturday in Vidigueira, in the Baixo Alentejo. The event was promoted by the Association of Portuguese Municipalities of Wine (AMPV) and brought together representatives from different regions of the country for an evening dedicated to tradition, culture and glamour.
The municipality of Ponte da Barca was represented by Beatriz Silva, who proudly took on the mission of presenting and enhancing the territory, its customs, wines and local gastronomy. The councilors for Tourism, Diana Sequeira, and Culture, Rosa Arezes, also attended the event.
Throughout the evening, Beatriz Silva was featured in different moments of representation, parading in traditional folklore costume, specifically the São Miguel costume, and also in ceremony attire, bringing a taste of the identity and cultural richness of Ponte da Barca to the stage. The day before the event, there was also an opportunity to present and promote some of the flavors that distinguish the municipality, through sweets, savory snacks and wines.
Ponte da Barca City Council highlighted that this initiative represents an important opportunity to bring to other regions of the country what identifies the municipality: its culture, traditions, wines and gastronomy. The event was developed in partnership with various municipalities and entities.
