Japan inaugurated a hotel with the iconic Poké Ball shape to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon. The structure was built in Tomakomai, on the island of Hokkaido, and represents a celebration of the three decades of the franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori.
The project was developed by the company NOT A HOTEL, specialized in innovative and distinctive accommodation concepts. The choice of the Poké Ball as the theme for this structure reflects the cultural and commercial importance that Pokémon maintains in Japan and around the world.
The hotel presents unusual dimensions, with just three meters in width, making it a compact but iconic structure. This architectural particularity allows guests to experience an immersive themed experience related to the Pokémon universe.
The opening of this structure comes in the context of the celebrations of the franchise's thirtieth anniversary, which also includes other initiatives and launches throughout 2026, keeping alive the legacy of one of the most successful entertainment brands in history.
