The World Trade Organization (WTO) issued a concerning warning through a new report by the organization itself. According to the document, the inability to implement reforms at the institution could result in losses of approximately 10% of world Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2050.
The report classifies this situation as the biggest crisis faced by the organization in its 80 years of existence. The WTO is responsible for regulating international trade between nations.
The document highlights that failing to carry out the necessary reforms at the organization could have significant and lasting economic consequences for the global economy in the coming decades. The projected negative impact represents a substantial portion of world GDP.
