MAR Shopping Matosinhos will host a Sashiko workshop on September 19th, promoting a practical experience that combines tradition, creativity and sustainability. The initiative is a partnership between the shopping center and LIPOR Academy.
The workshop teaches traditional Japanese clothing repair techniques through the Sashiko method, which consists of sewing decorative patterns over damaged fabrics to extend the life of garments.
In addition to passing on knowledge about this ancient art, the training aims to raise awareness among participants about reducing textile waste, encouraging more sustainable practices in daily life.
The event positions MAR Shopping Matosinhos as a meeting place that goes beyond traditional commerce, betting on experiences that combine culture, creativity and environmental responsibility.
