From September 26 to 28, the Picnic Park next to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of D'Aires, in Viana do Alentejo, will host the Book Fair, one of the novelties of the D'Aires Fair 2026, which this year celebrates 275 years. The fair aims to establish itself as a space dedicated to books, stories, and literature, with a program aimed at children and adults alike.
On September 27, at 4:30 PM, writer Luísa Sobral will talk about her works, followed by a book signing session. On Monday, September 28, about 700 students from the School Grouping of Viana do Alentejo will visit the fair. Ana Rita Janeiro will lead activities for pre-school students, while storyteller Bru Junça will conduct a storytelling session for primary school students.
For secondary school students, conversations with comedians Kenny Simões and Jonas Rocha are scheduled starting at 2:30 PM. At 6:30 PM, comedian, storyteller, writer, and book and reading mediator Jorge Serafim will present a stand-up comedy show for the whole family.
Historian Fátima Farrica and technician Joana Mira will lead an activity about the history of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of D'Aires and its respective Museum Collection. The fair will feature the presence of Livraria Fnac, Livraria Fonte de Letras, and the Publishing Group Leya.
