Kasarani Stadium, located in Nairobi, will be the main venue for the event. Currently, the stadium is undergoing a complete structural renovation to host the competition.
This decision places Kenya, internationally known as a powerhouse in Athletics, at the center of world sport. The country has a long tradition in long-distance and middle-distance events, having produced some of the most decorated athletes in history.
