The PS councilor at the Municipal Chamber of Vouzela, Catarina Meneses, criticized the execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) funds in the municipality. According to the councilor, Vouzela currently has the second worst execution of these funds in the entire district of Viseu.
The criticism arises in the context of current municipal management and the application of European funds intended for economic and social recovery. Catarina Meneses, as an opposition councilor, points out deficiencies in the capacity to absorb and implement these community resources.
The socialist councilor also drew attention to the loss of 1.4 million euros earmarked for health under the PRR. This amount represents funds that could have been used for improvements in the municipality's health sector and which, apparently, were not executed or captured.
Catarina Meneses's position highlights a local political dispute over the effectiveness of European funds management and raises questions about the municipal chamber's capacity to take advantage of the available financing opportunities for the development of the territory.
