Forvis Mazars in Portugal Creates Digital and Technology Consulting Area

Eco15 September 2026 at 11:12

Forvis Mazars in Portugal has created the Technology & Digital Consulting area, integrated within the Advisory service line. The launch of this area responds to the current context of growing digital and regulatory challenges, at a time when demands on companies are increasing with the implementation of new technologies, namely artificial intelligence.

The new area will be led by Vitor Cavaco, who brings over 30 years of experience. The executive will head a new bet in the national market, focusing on the expansion of IT services provided in the areas of Assurance and Consulting. The priority domains include Cyber Security & Privacy, Digital Risk, Compliance & Assurance, ERP Transformation, and IT Strategy & Advisory.

Vitor Cavaco will also coordinate Data & AI projects, covering the aspects of Data Foundation, Analytics & Insights, and AI Transformation, as well as ensure the development of transformation projects, from strategy and advisory to the operationalization of solutions with clients.

Sérgio Santos Pereira, Country Managing Partner of Forvis Mazars in Portugal, stated that the creation of this area represents a strategic step in strengthening the capacity to support organizations in a context of increasingly accelerated technological transformation. At the end of last year, in an interview with EContas, Sérgio Santos Pereira had revealed that they would create a team focused on new technology areas, investing in AI systems auditing, considering it one of the growth levers of the consulting firm.

Why this matters

The creation of this area by Forvis Mazars, one of the five largest consulting firms in the Portuguese market, shows how consulting companies are adapting to the growing demand for specialized services in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. For readers, this indicates that national companies are increasingly facing regulatory and technological challenges that require specialized support in cybersecurity and AI systems auditing.
