The Court requested authorization from the Assembly of the Republic to hear André Ventura, leader of the Chega party, as a witness. The request arises within the scope of a case related to an alleged invasion and robbery that occurred on July 28 of this year.
The Public Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation to examine the events that reportedly occurred on that date. The investigation is ongoing and authorities are seeking to clarify what happened during the incident.
For Ventura to be able to testify in court, authorization from the Portuguese Parliament is required, since he is a member of the assembly with parliamentary immunity. The request was formally submitted to the legislative authorities.
The case remains under investigation by the Public Prosecutor's Office, which continues to gather evidence and hear witnesses to determine responsibility for the alleged events.
