Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly denied former US President Donald Trump regarding a supposed energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. Zelensky guaranteed that Ukraine is only willing to stop attacks on Russian energy targets under specific conditions.
According to President Zelensky, the main condition for any energy ceasefire is that Russia does the same reciprocally. In addition, Zelensky demanded that the United States guarantee Moscow's compliance with this agreement.
This position comes as a direct response to the announcement made by Donald Trump, who had declared that both sides of the conflict had reached an agreement for a partial ceasefire regarding attacks on energy infrastructure.
Kyiv's refusal represents a harsh blow to Trump's mediation attempts, who has been trying to position himself as an intermediary between Ukraine and Russia since the beginning of the conflict.
