Councilman Professor Tulio (PSOL) works within the Niterói City Council on a series of tributes to Paulo Eduardo Gomes, a former parliamentarian and colleague from the bench who died on the 5th at age 75. Paulo Eduardo Gomes was known in political circles as PEG.
Among the proposals is the creation of a medal to honor activists who stand out in the defense of human rights, health, and education. Additionally, Tulio states that he maintains internal conversations so that the left wing of the plenary and the Noble Hall of the Chamber receive the name of Paulo Eduardo Gomes.
Outside the Chamber, the councilman also seeks support to change the name of Leoni Ramos Square, in Cantareira, to Councilman Paulo Eduardo Gomes Square.
Tulio acknowledges that the proposal to change the name of the square may face more difficulties to be approved, but does not rule out a popular mobilization in defense of the change.
