The Supreme Federal Court mounted a strong security scheme for Tuesday's session (15). Access to the plenary was restricted to people previously authorized by the Court's ceremonial staff, blocking the entry of lawyers, students, and the press. Journalists followed the proceedings from outside, on the marquee of the building.
To enter the premises, anyone had to go through metal detectors and X-ray machines, as well as seal and keep their cell phones turned off in security packaging throughout the trial.
The security forces of the Federal District mounted a preventive perimeter in the federal capital, with total blockade of vehicle and pedestrian circulation in the Praça dos Três Poderes. Overt police presence was extended from the airport to the Plano Piloto Bus Station, about two and a half kilometers from the Court.
The Military Police will use drones and aerial surveillance cameras to monitor the perimeter, and any type of demonstration or public protest was restricted in the area around the court.
