The expansion of classes in Lisbon to accommodate students who did not have a place was considered "very positive" and allowed the problem that was occurring at the beginning of the school year to be resolved. The measure was taken to address the lack of available places in public schools in the district.
The president of the Association of Public School Directors, Filinto Lima, stated that the affected students will be contacted by their schools on Tuesday, and should be in the classroom on Wednesday.
Filinto Lima also noted that, for now, there is no information on how many students remain without a placement in the education system. The association does not yet have concrete data on the exact extent of this situation in the Lisbon district.
