September is traditionally the month of new beginnings in Portugal, including the return to work after summer holidays. However, the dynamics of rentrée are changing, no longer being limited to a simple return to the office or the recovery of the same work schedules.
The central question is no longer how many days per week employees should return to the office, but rather what is really worth returning to. This change in perspective reflects a deeper transformation in how work is viewed.
Maria Miguel Perlico, from the company PROCOS Group, highlighted that the focus should be on the value that physical presence can bring, rather than imposing quantitative targets of days in the office. This approach recognizes that work flows have evolved and that work dynamics are no longer the same.
