The coordinated response to migration crises, such as the one that occurred in Ceuta in July 2024, will be debated today in the European Parliament. That month, more than 70,000 migrants entered the Spanish city in North Africa, coming from Morocco, creating a significant humanitarian crisis situation.
MEPs will participate in the debate together with the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission. The objective is to determine a new way for the EU to act in response to this type of humanitarian crisis.
The resolutions chosen during the discussion will be submitted for voting on Thursday. The question of migrant protection should be at the center of conversations between the different European institutions.
