In Brazil's October 4 elections, voters do not only choose the President of the Republic. They also vote to elect 27 governors, who are the heads of state governments, 54 senators, 513 federal deputies and more than a thousand state deputies.
The article draws attention to a lesser-known aspect of these elections: the selection of four of the eleven ministers of the Supreme Federal Court, although this information does not appear on any ballot.
The voting for these judicial positions takes place simultaneously with the other elections, but in a less visible way for the Brazilian electorate.
