The Constitutional Court admitted, in a response sent to Left Bloc MP Fabian Figueiredo, that for decades it failed to maintain a complete list of holders of political offices and senior public offices required to submit declarations of income, assets, and social positions. The court acknowledges that it had no "record or registry of the universe of holders subject to declaration obligations," a fault it attributes to the lack of information transmission by public entities and the scarcity of human resources within the court itself.
The issue gains particular relevance with the case of Luís Neves, current Minister of Internal Administration, who did not submit a declaration of income while serving as Director of the Judicial Police between 2018 and 2026, allegedly because he was never notified.
