The acting governor of Rio de Janeiro, journalist Ricardo Couto, signed a decree that extinguishes 1,050 commissioned positions that were vacant in the structure of the state Executive Branch. The measure was published in the Official Gazette and represents the first stage of work conducted by the State Secretariat of the Civil House to review the structure of commissioned positions and rationalize their distribution.
The eliminated positions were known as "puxadinhos," a set of low financial value positions that emerged during previous administrations, when larger structures were split into lower-value positions. There were functions with gratifications of only R$ 20, where the position's value was considered merely symbolic.
