The LIVRE party criticized the meeting between the president of the Guimarães City Council, Ricardo Araújo, and the Israeli ambassador to Portugal, Oren Rozenblat. The meeting took place at the Guimarães City Hall.
LIVRE considered that the publicizing of the meeting as an opportunity to strengthen economic relations and attract investment is politically inappropriate, given the situation in Gaza.
The party stated that the meeting should have been cancelled or postponed, so as not to normalize diplomatic relations with Israel while the military operation in the Gaza Strip continues.
The Israeli ambassador Oren Rozenblat is currently serving in Portugal, having held this meeting with the Guimarães mayor in the municipality in the Braga district.
